Stefano Vitale
Stefano Vitale is an internationally acclaimed illustrator and artist. While studying for a degree in Economics at the University of Southern California, he often traveled to Mexico and the Southwest. There, he found inspiration in the simplicity of the popular local folk art. This influenced him so much that when he completed his economics degree, Vitale continued at The Arts Center in Pasadena, California, for a Bachelor of Fine Arts.
Stefano’s oil paintings on wood have earned him international awards and a retrospective of his life’s work in his hometown of Padua, Italy. Stefano is best known for his beautiful folk-style. He often salvages pieces of interesting wood to paint on, while in Venice he literally goes fishing for them in his colorful traditional wooden boat.
Stefano splits his time between a semi-abandoned huge early18thcentury villa frozen in time without heating or hot water surrounded by an enormous park near Venice and his house in Alarò, Mallorca, Spain, which each have a farmyard with fruit trees, vegetables, ducks, geese and chickens.
