Kathleen Marcotte is an illustrator from Elmhurst, Illinois, based out of Cleveland, Ohio. She earned her BFA in illustration at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) and now works for American Greetings by day, drawing unicorns, birthday cakes, gnomes, opossums playing banjos, and any other thing you might find on a greeting card. She finds inspiration for her work from vintage children’s books, gravitating toward the texture and limited color looks that old printing processes created. She has been recognized by the Society of Illustrators and 3×3 magazine, and her clients include: Lenny Letter, Like the Wind magazine, Independent School magazine, Cleveland State University, Cricket Media, and the Hudson Valley Seed Library. She has a love for printmaking, collage, travel, running through the Metroparks, and her goofy dog, Kuma.
