Robert Gantt Steele’s Memorable Children’s Book

Robert Gantt Steele had the wonderful opportunity to illustrate a most memorable children’s book. The book, Lily’s Victory Garden, is authored by by Helen L. Wilbur and tells the story of families coming together during troubling times. Her book was inspired by the true stories of families during WWII and their efforts on the home front to support the war effort. The main character is Lily, and she is determined to start her own victory garden in order to help in some small way. Facing obstacles head on Lily succeeds in her efforts and learns so much more in the process.

Through his paintings, Robert beautifully helps tell this touching children’s narrative. His paintings are very emotive and create a sense of warmth and connection. Be sure to view more of Robert’s work!
